Services Offered

In addition to acupuncture, there are many other techniques used in Chinese medicine:

Tui Na

Tui Na is the traditional Chinese medicine massage therapy. This massage can be done in conjunction with an acupuncture treatment or as a stand alone treatment to activate circulation of energy and remove obstructions to decrease pain and restore functional movement. Tui Na can be especially helpful for musculoskeletal pain conditions, arthritis, and recovery from injury.

Cupping

Glass or plastic cups are applied to the back to promote energy circulation, lessen swelling and pain, and massage the deeper muscle layers. This can be used in treating neck, shoulder, and back pain, or internal chest conditions such as asthma or cough.

Gua Sha

Using a gua sha tool, the skin is lightly scraped in certain areas to promote energy circulation and move fluids in subcutaneous tissue. This technique can be used for the common cold, musculoskeletal pain, and tension headaches.

 Moxibustion

Moxibustion uses the mugwort herb to warm specific points on the body, which can increase circulation and decrease pain. Among moxibustion’s many uses are for digestive issues and cold pain conditions, such as knee pain that feels worse in cold weather.
